KMLC25 - The 1992 small-sided season (part two - Oasis Premier League)

(taken from the WE Should Be So Lucky magazine)

In July '92 THE KYLIES shook off their friendly game shackles and ventured into the big time. Summer '92's so called Oasis Premier League was to witness the KYLIES first hand.

THE KYLIES served up rich lashings of mouthwatering football and thoroughly deserved their place in the Finals, qualifying 2nd in their League. THE KYLIES also held the distinction of being the only undefeated team in the Summer League. The way in which we were dumped out of the Finals was neither graceful or sportsmanlike.

Old Town fielded a team of RINGERS and for the first time in THE KYLIES history we were convincingly outclassed. The best game of the campaign was our fine win over Smiths Roofing who won our League and were also narrowly beaten in the Final.

The experience gained from the sortie into competitive football and the fun had along the way was very pleasing to all concerned. The League also proved to be a useful yardstick, measuring our ability against a higher grade of opposition.

THE KYLIES were good ... very good!
