Grapes crushed

2 April 1995, Division 8 at Mannington

KMLC FC 7 The Grapes 1 (HT 2-0)

After last week's struggle to get a point at Sevenfields the home game against the same opponents saw a very different result.

Player-manager Stu led the way with four goals (two from the spot - was Ian Merry chopped down in similar style for both of them?) on his way to winning MVP and Merry bagged a brace to help the team to their biggest victory since November.

Is this the game where Carpo busted his head open in an aerial challenge I wonder? There's a picture of him somewhere with a massive bandage around his cranium. This was to be his last game of the season.

Lunt
Carpenter, Woolford, M.Warr, Gunning
Smedley, Merry, Gould, Howell
Swatridge, Kelly
Subs: Summers for M.Warr, B.Warr for Carpenter

Scorers: Gould 4 (2 pens), Merry 2, Gunning

MVP: Gould
Spoons: Swatridge

Next match - 9 April 1995 v Akers Garage at Ballards Ash
