Ten man Kylies undone by own goal
7 December 1997, Division 5 at Mannington
KMLC FC 0 Highworth Plough 1
The Highworth Plough became another Kylie rivalry, like with Akers and perhaps away trips to the Lamb at Marlborough.
The Kylies could only muster ten men for this game (we might even have started with nine if my memory's not playing tricks) and Garratt was restored to the keeper's jersey three weeks after his horror show against Cursor to show how desperate we were. It would be the last time he did.
This game saw a fantastic rearguard action from the home team with the game only settled with the unlucky Payne steering a cross into his own goal. Ben, on his second of only four appearances this season was MVP. Richie won Spoons - probably for not turning up as he's not in the team list below.
Garratt
Carpenter, B.Warr, Cook, Harries
Swatridge, Gould, Payne, Crumbie
Cox
MVP: B.Warr
Spoons: Rees
Next match - 14 December v AFC Lyneham
