Motorola ECID 3 KMLC FC 0
The Kylies were kept off the scoresheet for the third time this season and it was a result that had big implications.
Motorola's 3-0 win completed the double over us (I should have pointed out we were now clad in red and blue striped shirts, blue shirts and blue & red socks) and would mean that they nicked third place from us on goal difference.
Only one change to the team from last week - Merry replaced Payne in midfield - but I'm sure it wasn't all his fault, especially as JP won Spoons.

B.Warr, Hobbs, Cook, Gould
Hales, Merry, Rees, Winters
Ausden, Cox
Subs: Beasant for Rees, Humphries for Cox, Garratt for Ausden
MVP: B.Warr

All hail Hales!

KMLC FC 1 NP Electric 0
Another clean sheet! That's three in five games. With Powelly in the sticks too. Andy H came off the bench for Coxy which suggested he may have had some sort of hand or arm injury keeping him out of 'keeping duties. (Or he might have had the hump with winning Spoons two weeks running!)
1-0 is an unlikely Sunday morning result and was our first win of that scoreline since February 1997. Ian Merry got the goal against Curriers Arms that day, and coincidentally he missed this game.
Today the hero was Steve 'Forest' Hales. His early goal meant a league double over old rivals National Power. He got Spoons too for some reason.

HIgh Street halt top three push
5 March 2000, Division 5
KMLC FC 2 High Street Club 4
Nine wins in 12 games had pushed the Kylies into the race for third place but a second defeat to High Street Club in two months put that place in doubt.
Ben was back in defence, his first start of the season, in place of Winters, while Coxy - returned to the starting line up for the first time since November (must have been injured I suppose) - showed us what we'd been missing with his first brace for the club. A strange stat for someone who'd won a Golden Boot but there you go.
It wasn't enough for a point though.
