Kylies blanked by Kempsford
30 January 2000, Division 5
Kempsford 3 KMLC FC 0
We might have been losing a fair bit but we usually found the net. Not this week.
Kempsford, who would go on to finish second, beat us 4-2 in September and completed the double - becoming the first team to keep a league clean sheet against the Kylies since last April.
What else to say about this game? Not much. Rare sub appearances for Sharp and Garratt and a return for Astley after not playing since September.

Green Baize left needing snookers
23 January 2000, Division 5
KMLC FC 6 Green Baize Swindon 2
We'd opened our league season with a 2-2 draw against these opponents back in September but that form was left behind with a big victory.
There was one change for last week's great win with Beasant starting in place of the absent Rees. Smedley and Warr (B) made rare appearances form the bench.
Watling was again the focal point on the field bagging his second hat-trick in six games. This ended his extraordinary run of scoring form which had brought him 13 goals in our last eight league games. He finished the season with 16 goals in 12 league games, only failing to score in two of them. Hats off to you sir!

Welding come unstuck
16 January 2000, Division 5
KMLC FC 3 Compton Welding 2
After the same opponents stuffed us 9-2 in September this would have been some sweet revenge. Compton would go on to win the league losing only three games all season, (only conceding 29 goals in 20 games) so this would have been a special performance.
Harries was back in defence (for Gould) and Powell's goal last week gave him the starting nod over Ausden. Watling Payne and Merry got the goals for us.
Shame I can't remember anything about this game. Seems like it would have been a good one.

New Year starts on a low
9 January 2000, Division 5
High Street Club 3 KMLC FC 2
After the winter break the Kylies returned with a strong line up. The date might suggest it's the day after the Highworth 10 though so maybe that had an effect on the performance.
There were late goals as Watty scored from the spot and JP got one from off the bench but the team slipped to their first defeat in four.
