Unbeaten sequence stopped by Police

8 February 1998, Division 5 at Ballards Ash

Swindon Police 5 KMLC FC 2

After three draws in a row it was back to being on the receiving end for the Kylies. It was the bare 11 at Ballards Ash and they couldn't repeat the win over these opponents from the first match in October.

Garratt got his second goal of the campaign, surprising himself as much as anyone with a smart turn and shot that found the bottom corner.  However, he let himself down with possibly the worst celebration in Kylie history.

Racing over to linesman 'Chopper' Harries he pretended to be a tree while 'Chopper' used the linesman's flag to cut him down. Outrageous. He won MVP but surely should have got Spoons for that horror.

Watty brace stretches unbeaten run

1 February 1998, Division 5 at Mannington

KMLC FC 3 Workbase Resources 3

This draw, against a Workbase side that the Kylies had put away 4-1 earlier in the season, gave the team their third draw in a row. That's if you're 'glass half full'. If you're 'glass half empty' it's now eight without a win.

After his stint in defence last week Watty was back up front and netting two goals into the bargain. Gouldy got the other one from the spot while JP and Matthew shared spoons which could indicate some sort of defensive mix-up.

Powell
Carpenter, Hobbs, M.Warr, Crumbie
Payne, Gould, Merry, Cox
Rees, Watling
Subs: Cook for Carpenter, Farquahar for Payne, Smedley for Rees

Goals: Watling 2, Gould (p)

MVP: Watling
Spoons: M.Warr, Powell
